It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s T-rex! I mean, it’s some other dinosaur that looks a lot like T-rex! One thing I can tell you about Field Station Dinosaurs in Secaucus, NJ is you besta bring your A-Game and make sure you know your dino-knowledge. The mini Ross Gellars that we encountered knew their ish. “That’s not a t-rex! It has 3 fingers. That’s a Gorgosaurus!”, okay cool kid, I get it, I’m an idiot, thanks now walk away before I trip you.
The children are given a passport upon arrival. They collect stamps at every activity (the employees are super nice and will fill it up for you if you have to go) and once the passport is filled, they become official “Super Paleontologists”. They have a music show, a family feud like game where the entire audience participates, there is an area where children can dig for fossils and much much more. My kids enjoyed it all, everything was a favorite.
My tips on visiting Field Station would be to lather your sunscreen on, use lots of mosquito repellant and wear comfortable closed toe shoes. Since our trip was a surprise, I am certain that I did not dress accordingly and not only got sunburn and a mosquito bite on my lip but had to change from my cute wedges and into my pedicure flip flops that I keep in my car. They’re not cute by the way.
I have been recommending this place to everyone since our visit. It truly was a fun experience for us all and one of the employees mentioned that you can find coupons and discount codes online.
We hope to return in August for their dinosaur sleep over and by we, I mean my husband and daughters because you know momma’s idea of roughing it is staying at the Holiday Inn.
Here are some pictures from our visit.
