I attended the launch party for Intro NYC last night. I walked into a room of women being pampered with manicures by Go Priv, a wonderful spread of food by the NY Mommy Chef and was instantly given some swag from Le Sport Sac. Is this real life? Everyone I met was incredibly friendly and some of the women even loved to miss their children as much as I do. We talked about blogging, we talked about our relationships and after my third Sweet and Sour Intro NYC signature cocktail, we might have talked about something else. Kidding, they weren’t strong… Or were they?
I love posting about fashion but with three children (four when my husband is around) it becomes difficult to master an OOTD selfie. The people I met last night inspired me with words like, “Just do it!”, “who cares if there is a mess in the background?”, “do it! It’s real!” so as soon as I walked through my door and before I peeled off my fake lashes, I did just that. I took a picture with my daughter photobombing with her blankie and a pile of laundry in the background. Whatev’s a lot of us if not most of us deal with the same thing.
Here are some details to what I wore last night. I purchased the skull print sweater from Love Culture last year. I couldn’t find it on their site anymore but did find this very similar sweater from Saks Off 5th for $72 from $345!!! That’s 79% off! And it is cashmere. I feel like Cashmere is a word that should always be capitalized, right? Anyway, it doesn’t cost the $17 that my sweater cost but it is such a better deal and it is Cashmere. Cashmere for $72! The denim top is from H&M and the flared jeans are from Free People. The boots I wore last night could have celebrated their Quinceańera. I have owned them since the year 2000. These Gracii boots from Steve Madden are very similar to the ones I wore last night. Last but certainly not least, what my husband calls my Mr. T necklace which is actually the Courtney Bib from Baublebar.
