You say, dressed up. I say, dressed. A fabulous woman once told me that a rainy day is never an excuse to not look your personal best and that is why when the weather outside is dreadful, I pull out a few things from my closet to transform a frightful day into a delightful one.
If you haven’t noticed yet, I actually rent out one of the dressing rooms at my local Zara and basically sleep there. Who needs food when you have affordable fashion? And I promise, they are not paying me to say that. I just seriously love the place.
This past Tuesday I wore a Zara checked top which my daughter’s call my mom shirt. I can see where it looks a little Stepford Housewife-ish but it’s a great top. It isn’t too fitted and doesn’t 100% require me to wear spanx. I paired it with my Zara ‘Japanese’ skinny jeans (whatever that means) and added a little bit of sparkle with one of my favorite pieces by Baublebar, the Phoenix bib (which was just on sale btw). I was going to wear nude heels but my daughters insisted that I wear my Leather Courtshoe heels by Zara. Parenting is all about sacrifices. When I am out with my children, I like to use a cross body bag. This is my favorite cross body by Cole Haan, enjoy that has a compartments and allows my hands to be free to wrangle my children.
I was comfortable, I was warm and I was glad that I chose to wear some sparkle for the fabulous event.
